Foreign Military Sales under Donald Trump presidency

This president Donald Trump is going to be very different than all other previous presidents

Foreign Military Sales Under the Trump Administration

During the eight years of the Obama administration, the defense industry’s requests to export weapons were approved at a record clip. The total value of approved deals eventually more than doubled that of the previous administration, topping out at more than a quarter-trillion dollars. Of course, there’s more to sealing an export deal than gaining White House approval, and so the actual booked revenue from all those deals remains far lower.

Still, defense companies would be happy if they could expect similarly swift action from the new Trump administration. Certainly, Donald Trump vowed on the campaign trail to help American industry. But so far, the only approvals since he took office have been for deals essentially wrapped up under Obama.

This eBook takes a closer look at the state of foreign military sales and what to expect with the new administration.
